ÜBER ANTHONY R. GREEN

Der kreative Output von Anthony R. Green (Komponist, Performer, soziale Gerechtigkeit) umfasst musikalische und visuelle Kreationen, Interpretationen von Originalwerken, Kollaborationen, Bildungsarbeit und mehr. Hinter all seinen künstlerischen Bemühungen stehen die Ideale von Gleichheit und Freiheit, die sich auf vielfältige Weise in einer Komposition, einer Performance, einer Kollaboration oder einer Arbeit zur sozialen Gerechtigkeit manifestieren.

Als Performer trat Anthony R. Green an verschiedenen Orten in den USA, auf Zypern, in Frankreich, den Niederlanden, Großbritannien und Südkorea auf. Für Auftritte arbeitete er mit zahlreichen Studenten, aufstrebenden Komponisten, sowie etablierten Komponisten wie David Liptak, Ofer Ben-Amots, Renée Baker, Steve Reich und George Crumb.

Green's wichtigste Arbeit zur sozialen Gerechtigkeit war Castle of the Skins (COOS), wo er Associate Artistic Director, Composer-in-Residence und Pianist ist. COOS ist eine Organisation für Konzert- und Bildungsformate, die sich dem Ziel widmet, die schwarze Kunst durch Musik zu feiern. Mit COOS hat er über das Leben und die Musik vieler schwarzer Komponisten performt, komponiert und referiert. Seine wichtigsten Kompositionslehrer waren Theodore Antoniou, Lee Hyla und Robert Cogan. Er nahm an Meisterkursen bei Jonathan Harvey, Walter Zimmermann, Paquito D'Rivera und dem JACK Quartett teil.

ABOUT ANTHONY R. GREEN

The creative output of Anthony R. Green (composer, performer, social justice) includes musical and visual creations, interpretations of original works or works in the repertoire, collaborations, educational outreach, and more. Behind all of his artistic endeavours are the ideals of equality and freedom, which manifest themselves in diverse ways in a composition, a performance, a collaboration, or social justice work.

As a performer, Anthony R. Green has appeared at venues across the US, Cyprus, France, the Netherlands, the UK, and South Korea. For performances, he has worked with numerous student and emerging composers, as well as established composers such as David Liptak, Ofer Ben-Amots, Renee Baker, Steve Reich, and George Crumb.

Green’s most important social justice work has been with Castle of our Skins (COOS), where he is associate artistic director, composer-in-residence, and pianist. COOS is a concert and education series organization dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music. With COOS, he has performed, composed, and lectured about the life and music of many Black composers. His main composition teachers have been Theodore Antoniou, Lee Hyla, and Robert Cogan, and he has participated in masterclasses with Jonathan Harvey, Walter Zimmermann, Paquito D’Rivera, and the JACK Quartet.
